Pampa Orthopedics & Rehab (POR) is a Center of Excellence in the Panhandle medical community. POR offers multi-faceted programs dedicated to the management of work and sport related injuries, pediatrics, cartilage and joint disorders, chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, and wellness promotion.

For most there are TWO options for recovery:

Conservative Treatment - Physical Therapy, a non-operative intervention that allows our highly-trained physical therapists to evaluate and treat your individual injury and assess your personal recovery goals.

Aggressive Treatment - Surgical repair, coupled with an individualized physical therapy treatment plan provided by POR’s highly-trained therapists.

Pampa Orthopedics & Rehab (POR) offers a full range of contemporary treatment options for joint and musculoskeletal pain, functional limitations, and sport/work-related injuries, including the latest technology in underwater treadmill rehabilitation. Many professional and collegiate sports teams (including Texas Tech University) utilize the same underwater technology POR has now made available to the public. In some cases, we can prevent the onset or progression of injury, using innovative protocols for relieving pain due to a lifetime of wear and tear available at only a handful of rehabilitation centers in the country. These treatments may lead to a significant reduction or elimination of pain allowing you to return to a healthy, active lifestyle.

Specialties

HydroWorx Underwater Treadmill:

The Underwater Treadmill is an above-ground individual pool that allows the patient to exercise while reducing pain and increasing flexibility and muscle tone. Every time you take a step, you put three to seven times the weight of your body on your joints. Take that same step in water, and the natural buoyancy of H2O gently lifts the pressure off your joints, while still allowing you to work your muscles. People with physical-limiting conditions are increasingly turning to aquatic therapy for pain relief and conditioning.

HydroWorx's Underwater Treadmill System offers a wide variety of applications for the patient with superior outcomes, as compared to traditional land-based equipment and standard pools.  The Underwater Treadmill is a heated, above ground pool that allows the patient to enter with ease.  It operates as a forward motion or reversible treadmill at a variable speed of .5 mph to 7 mph.  Included in the unit are dual-speed resistant jets and a digital display unit for the therapist to monitor speed, distance and time.

Pediatrics:

POR specializes in physical therapy for the pediatric client, ages 0-21. We enjoy working with children of all abilities and needs. Some children’s therapy needs may be short term as in the case of sports injuries or reluctant walkers; where some children’s therapy needs may be long term in cases such as significant developmental delay. As pediatric physical and occupational therapists we pride ourselves on offering early intervention for children in the natural environment, including approaches such as neurodevelopmental treatment and sensory integration.
